Patients having genital warts are at excessive risk of HIV and syphilis. Uninformed patients with high risk behaviors can help spread this condition in society. Therefore, CDC recommends HIV and syphilis screening for those with a sexual transmitted disease or a sexual risk factor. But this strategy is rarely considered in Iran. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of HIV and syphilis screening tests in patients with genital wart. Materials and Methods:In this case-control study, 100 patients with genital wart referring to Dermatology Department of Imam-Reza Hospital (August 2005 - August 2007) were included as the case group. This study was approved by the local ethics. The Control group was the same in number, age average, sex and marital status. All 200 patients studied considering HIV or syphilis infection. Finally, collected data were statistically analyzed by SPSS software, using χ2and student T test. Results:Male to female ratio was 0.87. Majority of patients aged 30-39 years. Two patients were HIV positive and only one had Syphilis, without significant difference with the control group (Pv =0.29, Pv =0.50). Conclusion: Screening is not cost effective in patients with asymptomatic anogenital warts. Since both HIV positive cases were intravenous drug abusers, this study emphasized on HIV and syphilis screening in patients with high risk behavior.}, keywords = {Anogenital wart,Condyloma acuminatum,Sexually transmitted infections,Syphilis,Screening,HIV}, title_fa = {بررسی سرولوژیک HIV-1 و سیفیلیس در مبتلایان به زگیل مقعدی تناسلی بالینی}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: عفونت تناسلی با پاپیلوماویروس انسانی شایع ترین بیماری مقاربتی در آمریکا می باشد‌ و این بیماران دارای زگیل تناسلی در خطر ابتلا به HIV و سیفیلیس هستند. عدم شناسایی این افراد که رفتار های جنسی پرخطر دارند، می تواند منجر به انتشار بیماری در جامعه و عوارض جبران ناپذیر شود. به همین دلیل CDC توصیه می شود تا هر فردی که برای بررسی و درمان بیماری مقاربتی مراجعه می کند یا دارای عامل خطرزای جنسی است، از نظر سیفیلیس و عفونت HIV غربال شود، ولی این استراتژی اغلب در ایران انجام نمی شود. به همین منظور در این طرح پژوهشی مبتلایان به زگیل تناسلی از نظر آلودگی به HIV و سیفیلیس غربالگری شدند تا نتیجه بررسی این بیماران با توجه به صرف هزینه مشخص شود. روش کار: در این مطالعه مورد - شاهدی 100 نفر از مبتلایان به زگیل تناسلی مراجعه کننده به بخش پوست بیمارستان امام رضا مشهد ازشهریور 84 تا شهریور 86 به عنوان مورد و100 نفر سالم فاقد زگیل تناسلی همسان از نظر سن، جنس و تاهل به عنوان شاهد از نظرHIV و سیفیلیس بررسی شدند. داده های حاصله با کمک نرم افزاز SPSS، آزمون کای دو و تی دانشجویی مورد تجزیه و تحلیل آماری قرار گرفتند. نتایج: نسبت بیماران مذکر به مونث 87/0، بیشترین گروه سنی 30- 39 سال بود. دو نفر از بیماران آلوده به HIV و یک نفر مبتلا به سیفیلیس بود که با گروه شاهد تفاوتی نداشت (29/0 =p، 50/0 =p). نتیجه گیری: با توجه به هزینه های غربالگری، انجام آن در مبتلایان به زگیل مقعدی تناسلی بدون علامت لازم نمی باشد، ولی از آنجایی که هر دو بیمار HIV مثبت معتاد تزریقی بودند، این مطالعه بر ضرورت غربالگری افراد دارای رفتارهای پر خطر از نظر عفونت HIV و سیفیلیس تاکید دارد.}, keywords_fa = {زگیل مقعدی تناسلی,کوندیلوما آکومیناتوم,عفونتهای مقاربتی,HIV,سیفیلیس,غربالگری}, url = {https://mjms.mums.ac.ir/article_5516.html}, eprint = {https://mjms.mums.ac.ir/article_5516_7a5f9cb873cd8556d01d8190aec00782.pdf} }
