Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of life skills training on ego strength, mood and suicidal ideation among girls who attempt suicide in Ilam province. The research method is quasi-experimental and pre-test-post-test design with control and follow-up group and the statistical population of the study includes all girls aged 18 to 24 years in Ilam province who committed suicide in 1397-98 and went to medical centers. Medical sciences of Ilam province have been referred, in which 40 people were purposefully selected as a sample and replaced by experiments (based on age, education and marital status) in experimental (20 people) and control (20 people) groups. Is. The instruments used are the Mood Scale (Kellinger et al., 1994), the Ego Power Scale (Baron, 1995), and the Suicide Thought Survey (Beck Suicide Thought Questionnaire, 1961). Data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance. The results indicate the effectiveness of life skills training on suicidal ideation, mood and ego strength in the post-test and follow-up phase among girls who attempt suicide in Ilam province. Thus, life skills training reduces suicidal ideation and increases temperament and ego strength among girls in suicide research in Ilam province and its effect is maintained over time.
