Lived experience of women alcoholics from personal and family relationships (Case study: Isfahan)

Abstract

Introduction: Alcohol consumption is one of the emerging social phenomena that affects the foundation of human society. Alcoholism is one of the abnormalities that has negative and destructive effects on individual and family areas. The institution of the family is considered as the most important vulnerable point of this deviation, and women consumers are considered as the first victims of this deviation that the consequences of alcohol consumption affect their personal and family relationships. The purpose of this study is the phenomenology of lived experience of personal and family relationships in women consuming alcohol in Isfahan.
Methods: In this study, the qualitative method of phenomenological accuracy with Klaizi approach has been used. The statistical population of this study is women consuming alcoholic beverages in Isfahan. 30 people were selected by purposive sampling, snowball samples and theoretical saturation criteria. Data collection by semi-structured interviews for 60-. 150 minutes was done. The lived experiences of the tendency to consume alcohol and discover their personal and family relationships were analyzed.
Results: The research findings were divided into two themes: lived experience of personal relationships (consumer characteristics, factors accelerating consumption, illicit communication) and lived experience of family relationships (inappropriate parenting, alcohol consumption in the family, intellectual gap in the family). Categories and concepts are discussed in this article.
Conclusion;Individual relationships and family relationships, as well as interactions between family members, play an important role in the tendency to consume alcohol.
