The Effect Of Mental Health On Nurses' Life Satisfaction With The Mediation Of Resilience

Abstract
Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the role of mental health on nurses' life satisfaction with the mediation of resilience in nurses.
Methods: The statistical population of this research included all the nurses working in Chalus and Nowshahr hospitals in the first 6 months of 2016. The research sample included 150 nurses who were selected by cluster random method. Data collection was done using three questionnaires: mental health (Kumar, 1992), life satisfaction (Diener et al., 1985) and resilience (Connor and Davidson, 2003).
Results: The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between mental health and life satisfaction of nurses (P<0.05); There is a significant relationship between resilience and life satisfaction of nurses (P<0.05); There is a significant relationship between mental health and resilience of nurses (P<0.05). Data analysis using structural equation modeling showed that the model of the relationship between mental health and life satisfaction with the mediating role of resilience fits the research data.
Conclusion: It seems that it is necessary to pay attention to the individual capacities of nurses such as resilience and general health in order to increase mental health and improve the level of satisfaction with their lives.
