The effectiveness of cognitive behavioral couple therapy on mental vitality and marital intimacy of couples referring to counseling centers in Tonekabon city

Abstract The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral couple therapy on mental vitality and marital intimacy of couples referring to counseling centers in Tonekabon city. The research method was applied from the view point of objective and in terms of its nature, was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. To select the sample, 30 couples were selected through simple random sampling from 75 couples and were replaced in the same way in two groups (15 couples) and finally one group was randomly selected as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The experimental group underwent cognitive behavioral couple therapy training for 10 sessions of 100 minutes, and the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were collected using the Thompson and Walker Marital Intimacy Questionnaire (1983) and the Ryan and Frederick Mental Life Questionnaire (1997). In this study, multivariate analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the post-test of two groups in mental vitality and marital intimacy, meaning that the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral couple therapy on couples' mental vitality and marital intimacy was significant and led to an increase in the two variables in the experimental group. The results of the present study emphasize the need to use cognitive-behavioral couple therapy to improve couples' marital life.
Effectiveness of Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy on the Couples’ Interpersonal Interactive Damages

Abstract The aim of this study was to effectiveness of cognitive- behavioral therapy on the couples’ interpersonal interactive damages. the present study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of intimate relationship skills combined package and training marriage enrichment on the couples’ interpersonal interactive damages. The current study was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest, control group and two-month follow-up period. The statistical population of the present study included the couples attending consultation centers in the town of Fereidounshahr in 2019 who got significantly higher-than-the-mean scores in the questionnaire of interpersonal interactive damages. 30 couples were selected through purposive sampling method and randomly accommodated into experimental and control groups (each group of 15 couples). The experimental group received twelve ninety-minute intervention sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy during two and half months. The applied questionnaire in this study included interpersonal interactive damages questionnaire (researcher-made). The data taken from the study were analyzed through repeated measurement ANOVA. The results revealed that the cognitive-behavioral therapy have significant effect on the couples’ interpersonal interactive damages (p<0.001) in a way that this type of training succeeded in decreasing the couples’ interpersonal interactive damages. The findings of the present study showed that cognitive- behavioral therapy can be used as an efficient method to decrease the couples’ interpersonal interactive damages through employing automatic thoughts to identify fundamental beliefs, teach behavioral methods and cognitive errors and negative thoughts.
The effectiveness of positive couple therapy and acceptance and commitment on increasing marital adjustment

Abstract Introduction Research has shown that positivist psychotherapy leads to marital adjustment in couples. On the other hand, acceptance and commitment therapy has been effective in reducing issues such as conflict and conflict, adaptation and commitment meaning a rich and meaningful life, but there is a research gap in comparing the two approaches. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of couples. Positive therapy and therapy was based on acceptance and commitment to increase marital adjustment in couples. Material and Method The method of the present study was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population included all couples seeking divorce who had referred to family counseling centers in Iranshahr in 1399 for couple therapy. 45 couples were selected by convenience sampling method and then randomly divided into two groups of 30 experimental and one group of 30 controls. Participants responded to the Lock and Wallace Marital Adjustment Questionnaire (1995). Couples therapy, positive therapy Seligman and Sequent Mihali (2000) and therapy based on acceptance and commitment Hayes, Strosahel and Wilson (2012) performed in 8 sessions of 90 minutes on the experimental groups and after the post-test sessions. Done. Finally, after the post-test, the results were analyzed by analysis of covariance. Results The results showed that couples therapy, positive therapy and acceptance and commitment based therapy were effective in increasing marital adjustment in couples (P <0.01). Also, positive couple therapy training had a more significant effect than acceptance and commitment therapy (P <0.01). Conclusion Considering that both interventions had a strong effect on increasing marital adjustment, but positive couple therapy was more effective in increasing marital adjustment and negligence, so the combination of these two methods in couples therapy interventions will probably lead to more effective results.
Qualitative investigation of the causes of conflict between couples in an exploratory study

Abstract The family is the first founder of human personality, values and attitudes, and its emergence in the current style is one of the valuable characteristics of human beings compared to other creatures. The purpose of this research is to qualitatively investigate the causes of conflict between couples. The method of the current research is a qualitative method of the grounded theory type, which collects information through an inductive and exploratory research method. the statistical population of the research is all couples with marital conflict referring to counseling centers in Tehran in 1400-1999, who at least 1 year has passed since their marriage. The data collection tool was an in-depth interview. In the qualitative part, interviews were conducted with the interviewees who were selected purposefully and the statistical sample of the research reached saturation with 15 couples. Based on the qualitative analysis of this research, the causes of conflict between couples are categorized into six categories: the interference of significant others (spousal discrimination), past and present unresolved disorders and injuries, economic and financial issues, individual components of couples, crises and Milestones of life, virtual shelter. Based on this, it is necessary to pay attention to the role of other people's interference (differentiation of marital incompatibility), past and present unresolved disorders and injuries, economic and financial issues, individual components of couples, crises and milestones in life in order to reduce marital conflicts. It reduced the marital conflicts of couples.
The Effectiveness of Effective Communication Skills Training on Communication Patterns of Couples

Abstract Introduction and purpose: In the evening, the family system has many problems and family differences, divorce, increasing the number of orphans and criminal juvenile indicate the main problems in families, the main root of which is the quality of relations between couples. According to this the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of effective communication skills training based on Islamic culture on communication patterns of couples with children.
Methodology: The study is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the present study included couples with children referred to comprehensive health centers in the city of Malathia in the first six months of 2021. The sample group consisted of 60 couples who were selected by random sampling from the statistical population and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (30 couples in the experimental group and 30 couples in the control group). Both groups completed the Christens and Salawi (1984) Couples Communication Patterns Questionnaire (CPQ), then the experimental group under 12 sessions of 2 hours of effective communication skills training program based on Islamic culture. D
Results: The results showed that effective communication skills training based on Islamic culture has an effect on communication patterns of couples with children.
Conclusion: Training in effective communication skills based on Islamic culture is effective on couples 'communication patterns and due to its usefulness, can be used as an effective method to improve the quality and increase couples' emotional communication.
Effectiveness of choice theory Training on the Couples’ Marital Satisfaction and marital burnout

Abstract Introduction: Family is considered the most important part of every society that maintaining its foundation can lead to the society growth. Therefore the present study was conducted aiming to investigate the effectiveness of choice theory training on the couples’ marital satisfaction and marital burnout Materials and Methods: The present study was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest and control group design. The statistical population included all the married couples with marital problems referring to consultation centers in the city of Hamedam in the autumn of 2018. 20 couples were selected through purposive sampling method and they were randomly accommodated into experimental and control group (each group of 10 couples). The experimental group received eight ninety-minute sessions of choice theoryintervention (Glasser, 2000) during two months. The applied questionnaires in this study included marital conflict questionnaire (Barati and Sanaei, 1996), marital satisfaction questionnaire (Enrich, 1998) and marital burnoutquestionnaire (Paienz, 1996). The data from the study were analyzed through ANCOVA and Bonferroni follow-up test using SPSS statistical software.
Results: The results showed that choice theorytraining has significant effect on the marital satisfaction and marital burnout (p<0.001) in a way that this training has succeeded in leading to the improvement of marital satisfaction (54%) and decrease of marital burnout (46%) in the couples.
Conclusion: The findings of the present study revealed that selection theory training can be used as an efficient method to improve marital satisfaction and decrease of marital burnout in the couples through employing techniques such as explaining internal and external control and accountability .
Effectiveness of Couple Intelligence Training on the Couple’s Martial Satisfaction and Adjustment

Abstract
Introduction and purpose: Supporting the family foundation is a matter of high importance in various societies. Therefore, the present study was conducted aiming to investigate the effectiveness of couple intelligence training on the couples’ marital satisfaction and adjustment.
Material and methods: The present study was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest, and control group design and two-month follow-up stage. The statistical population of the present study included 20 to 45-year-old couples with marital conflict who referred to consultation centers in the city of Isfahan in the first quarter of 2020. Thirty 20 to 45 year-old couples with marital conflicts were selected through purposive sampling method and they were randomly accommodated into experimental and control groups (each group of 15 couples). Three couples from the experimental group and two couples from the control group quitted the study after starting the intervention. The experimental group received twelve ninety-minute sessions of intervention related to couple intelligence training (researcher-made) during three months. The applied questionnaires in this study included marital conflict questionnaire (Barati and Sana’ie, 1997), Enrich’s marital satisfaction questionnaire (Olson, 2006) and marital adjustment questionnaire (Sinner, 1976). The data from the study were analyzed through repeated measurement ANOVA by SPSS version 23.
Findings: the results showed that couple intelligence training has significant effect on the couple’s martial satisfaction and adjustment (p<0.001) in a way that this training succeeded in the improvement of the couples’ marital satisfaction (0.64) and adjustment (0.68).
Conclusion: The findings of the study revealed that couple intelligence training can be applied as an efficient method to improve the couples’ marital satisfaction and adaption through employing techniques such as training empathy, expressing positive emotion, intimacy, self-awareness, motivation in relationship, empathy, steady modification of common sensational, sexual, behavioral and cognitive models and effective measures.
