Abstract

 Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to develop a structural model of eating behaviors based on emotional adjustment and attachment styles with the Mediating Role of feelings of loneliness in students.
Methods: The research method is correlation using structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the study consisted of all students of Tehran city in the academic year 97-98, out of which 481 students were selected by stage cluster sampling. Research instruments included Eating behaviors by van Strain et al. (1986), attachment styles Simpson (1990), emotional adjustment Robio et al. (2004), and feelings of loneliness Di Tomasso et al. (2004), all of which had acceptable validity and reliability.  SPSS-V23 and Amos-22 software were used for data analysis.
Results: The results showed that. Variables of dual-segregation and avoidance attachment styles have the power to explain eating behaviors in students. But a secure attachment style does not have the power to explain eating behaviors.
Conclusion: The results also show that the indirect effect of secure attachment style and avoidant attachment style are significant but the indirect effect of two-way attachment style is not significant which means that feeling alone in the relationship between the two attachment style variables Misbehavior and eating behaviors do not play a mediating role.
And so eating behaviors seem to be influenced by various factors such as emotional adjustment and attachment styles and need to be thoroughly investigated in different eating disorders.
