Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotion-focused couple therapy training on increasing happiness and improving couples' communication patterns.
Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test with control and experimental groups. The sample size consisted of 60 (30 couples) who were selected by convenience sampling from the counseling centers of Izeh city in 1397 and were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Then, the experimental group received eight sessions of EFT (Emotion Management Strategies) training.
Results: Comparison of pre-test and post-test showed that the happiness and improvement of couples' communication patterns in post-test were increased compared to pre-test.
Conclusion: Therefore, training of EFT based on emotion management strategies has a significant effect on increasing happiness and improving couples communication patterns.
