Abstract Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy training on body image in reducing social anxiety in high school students in Lar city. Methods: This study was an experimental study. First, the samples were randomly selected from two experimental and control groups. Anxiety was measured using SPI Social Anxiety Scale, which is a 45-item questionnaire. The experimental group received cognitive behavioral therapy and the results were analyzed by SPSS software. Results: Cognitive-behavioral therapy had a significant effect on decreasing social anxiety and social phobia. Cognitive-behavioral treatment had no significant effect on social apathy. Conclusion: Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a useful and effective method in reducing stress in students. This method can be used to treat the anxiety of other people in the community.
