Emotional intelligence and emotional schemes relation with women’s willingness for divorce survey

Abstract

Subjects &Introduction: divorce is one of the basic destroying factors for family and subsequently will cause different problems for society foundations. This research aims to study relation between emotional intelligence and emotional schemes with women’s willingness for divorce.
Methods:: this survey is a descriptive- correlation study. The statistical population comprises all applicants for divorce (female), self- referral or referred from Zanjan Family Court to well- being consulting centers, Aid Committee and Martyr Foundation in 2018. 240 people, 80 from each center have chosen with available sampling. For collecting data we used willingness for divorce questionnaire, Li He emotional schemes and Shut emotional intelligence. Data analyzed by using SPSS 25 and descriptive statics, coefficient correlation and regression analyze.
Results: the results show that there’s a negative and meaningful relation between divorce willingness and evaluation factor for emotions and using emotions factor. Also, there’s a positive and meaningful relation between divorce willingness and regulation emotion factor and social abilities and emotional intelligence. Predictor regression coefficients of variants show that emotional intelligence (B=0/130, t=3/48) can explain 70% of divorce willingness variance in women. In addition, results show that there’s a negative and meaningful relation between emotional schemes and emotional scheme (=t14/89, B=0/646) can explain 70% of divorce willingness in women.
Conclusion: The results in this research show that there’s a relation between emotional intelligence and emotional schemes and divorce willingness. Therefore, it’s suggested that couples learn how to not suppress their emotions and express them in desirable way.
