Abstract

Introduction: Predicting the occurrence of critical conditions in holding sports events for the disabled and veterans is inevitable, and crisis management requires psychological characteristics and abilities. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to predict crisis management based on resilience and regulation of emotional cognition in the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation.
Methods: The research method was correlational. The statistical population of this study was the organizers of sports events in the Federation of Sports for the Disabled and Veterans, from which 54 people were selected by available means. Measurement tools included Connor & Davidson (2003) Resilience Questionnaire, Garnfsky et al. (2007) Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and a researcher-made Crisis Management Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression at the error level of 0.05 with SPSS-19 software.
Results: The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between resilience and regulation of emotional cognition with crisis management. Also, regulation of emotional cognition (β = 0.37, p = 0.001) and resilience (β = 0.48, p = 0.001) were able to directly predict crisis management.
Conclusion: According to the obtained results, by increasing psychological resilience and adjusting emotional cognition, the ability to manage crisis improves.
