Abstract

Introduction
The aim of this study was to compare self-esteem, assertiveness, mental well-being and depression of female students with and without parents in high school in Abadan.
Method and Methods
This is a comparative causal study. In this study, the multi-stage cluster sampling method of 90 students (30 with parents, 30 without father and 30 without mother) of Abadan secondary schools were included in the study. For data collection, Cooper-Smith self-esteem scale, Gambrill and Reggie expression, Reef psychological well-being and Beck depression were used after determining validity and reliability. Study data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, one-way analysis of variance and Tukey test.
Results

They had higher depression. The results also showed that there is no significant difference between the expression of female students with parents and female students without parents.
