Abstract

the purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of web-based diabetes self management education on health related quality of life and diabetes distress and for filling the absence of research litrecture.
Methods: The present study was a semi – experimental with pre test and post test design with an experimental and control groups. The population of this study was all patients with type 2 diabetes who reffered to Imam Khomani Hospital and municipality district
health centers in Tehran . The number of 30 patients who met the inclusion criteria were voluntarily participated and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 6 sessions of web-based diabetes self management education. Data were analyzed by SPSS- 26 and descriptive and inferential statistics, repeated measures and mixed analysis design.
Results: The results showed no significant differences between experimental and control groups on health related quality of life and diabetes distress. The results of mixed analysis also showed that the interaction effect of time * time on the components of quality of life (F=0/155,p-value=0.935) and psychological distress ( F=1/300, p-value=0.285) is not significant at the level ( p-value<0.05 )
