The mediating role of job characteristics in the relationship between job satisfaction and self-efficacy in job decision making among employees of Islamic Azad University of West Mazandaran

Abstract

Introduction
The aim of this study was to mediate the role of job characteristics in the relationship between job satisfaction and self-efficacy in job decision making in employees of Islamic Azad University of West Mazandaran.
Material and Methods
This study was a correlational study and the study population included the staff of West Mazandaran Azad University. Using relative class sampling method, 500 people were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection tools were researcher-made self-efficacy questionnaire, Satisfied Job Characteristics Questionnaire (2011) and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire.
Results
Analysis of data using structural equation modeling showed that between job satisfaction and self-efficacy in job decision making with a coefficient of 0.54, between job characteristics and self-efficacy in job decision making with a coefficient of 0.84 and between job satisfaction and job characteristics with a coefficient of 0.66 there are 0 relationships.
Conclusion
As a result, there is a relationship between job satisfaction and self-efficacy in job decision making with the mediating role of job characteristics. The results of this study indicate the need to pay attention to promoting job satisfaction in employees of the Islamic Azad University of West Mazandaran.
