Extra-marital relationship prediction model based on attachment styles mediated by conflict management and forgiveness

Abstract

Introduction: The main purpose of this study is to predict extramarital relationships based on attachment styles mediated by conflict management and forgiveness.
Methods: The statistical population of this study is all married men and women referring to family counseling centers under the supervision of Kermanshah Welfare Organization in 1397-1396. According to the statistics obtained from the Welfare Organization, their number was about 420 people. The sampling method was census. The type of this research is descriptive-survey, based on the applied purpose and in terms of quantitative analysis. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. For data collection, the Whitley (2008) Attitudes Toward Extramarital Relationships Questionnaire, Collins and Reed Adult Attachment (2014), Ray et al. (2001), and Wilson-Pontam (1982) Conflict Management Questionnaire were used. Correlation test and structural equations were performed.
Results: In order to analyze the data, correlation tests and structural equations have been performed. The results showed that attachment styles with the mediation of conflict management and forgiveness predict extramarital relationships.
Conclusion: Conclusion: According to the results, we found that a general assessment to identify the factors affecting marital satisfaction and the tendency to extramarital relationships, according to its role in people's lives, as a factor for the development of societies, to strengthen the foundation of the family and society Use it.
