Comparing the effectiveness of psychodrama therapy and positive therapy on the spiritual attitude of breast cancer patients

Abstract

Introduction: Considering the importance of psycho-social and spiritual problems of breast cancer patients, this research was conducted with the aim of comparing the effectiveness of psychodrama therapy and positive therapy on the spiritual attitude of breast cancer patients.
Method: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test and follow-up plan with a control group. The research population included all women with breast cancer who referred to a clinic in Gandhi Street, Tehran, and 45 of them were selected as a sample by purposive sampling. These people were replaced in three groups: psychodrama, positive psychotherapy and control group (15 people in each group). The participants answered the spiritual attitude during three stages of assessment in the form of pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The research data were analyzed using variance analysis with multivariate repeated measures.
Results: The results of the present study showed that there was a difference between the effectiveness of positive psychotherapy and psychodramatics on the spiritual attitude of breast cancer patients (P<0.05) and the post hoc test showed that psychodrama compared to treatment. Positive thinking is more effective on spiritual attitude.
Conclusion: According to the research results, it is suggested to use psych demonstrating to improve the spiritual attitude of breast cancer patients.
