Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this research is to identify women's perception of barriers to career advancement based on psychological and health components. It is unavoidable to address the issue of women's work and its relationship with mental state and health. In addition to medical interventions, health depends on socio-economic factors such as the type of job and occupational groups.
Methods: The research is of a combined and applied type. In the qualitative section, 16 managers working in sports organizations were selected using a targeted and snowball method, and the data collection tool was semi-structured interviews. In the quantitative part, a questionnaire was designed and given to 207 female experts working in the Ministry of Sports and Youth and also the Department of Sports and Youth of Tehran Province to express their level of agreement with each of the factors. The reliability of the questionnaire was obtained using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.91.
Results:  By analyzing the data, seven main themes were extracted, which included individual barriers, family barriers, knowledge barriers, organizational barriers, managerial barriers, environmental barriers, barriers of influential institutions and 18 sub-themes, which in the quantitative part, agreement The staff was confirmed with each of the identified themes.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, managers are suggested to pay attention to the psychological and health components of employees for women's career success because it will lead to an increase in productivity in organizations.
