Abstract

The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of Haihani efficacy-based treatment on pain anxiety symptoms and sexual function in women with interstitial cystitis. The present study is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pre-test-post-test design. The statistical population of this study consists of all patients with interstitial cystitis in Qom who referred to Forghani Hospital for treatment in 1403. In the present study, 20 people were selected using a non-randomized, purposive sampling method, and then 10 people were randomly assigned to the experimental group and 10 others to the control group. The experimental group underwent Haihani efficacy-based treatment in 10 90-minute sessions, and finally, after ejaculation, 8 participants successfully completed the treatment. While the control group did not receive any intervention. It should be noted that in order to equalize the number of participants in the experimental and control groups in terms of the number of ejaculations, the experimental group was also randomly excluded from the control group. In this study, questionnaires for pain anxiety syndrome and sexual function of women with interstitial cystitis were used. The collected data were analyzed using the univariate analysis of covariance statistical model. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean post-test scores of the experimental and control groups and that Haihani efficacy-based treatment significantly improved pain anxiety syndrome and sexual function of women with interstitial cystitis.
