Comparison of Social Adaptation, Social Acceptance and Emotional Maturity of Hyperactive Students and Students with Learning Disabilities

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the difference in social adjustment, social acceptance, and emotional maturity between hyperactive students and students with learning disabilities in Tonekabon city. The method of the present study was causal-comparative. The statistical population of the present study was all male elementary school students in Tonekabon city with hyperactivity and learning disabilities in the academic year 1402-1403. The sample size of the present study was 50 people for each group (hyperactive students group and students with learning disabilities group), and the research samples were selected using simple random sampling method and entered into the study. Multivariate analysis of variance test was used to compare the difference in the mean of the research variables in the two groups. The results showed that the scores of social adjustment, social acceptance, and emotional maturity in hyperactive students and students with learning disabilities are significantly different from each other. According to the results obtained, hyperactive students have higher social adjustment, social acceptance, and emotional maturity than students with learning disabilities.
