Abstract

Background and Objective: Maternal mortality is considered a valuable indicator in the field of health to reflect the quality of health services and the manifestation of the excellence of a society's health and care system. In this regard, the negative impact of maternal death on families in a society indicates the importance of this factor. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of maternal mortality in relation to maternal age.
Materials and Methods: Initially, articles submitted to Magiran, SID, and Google Scholar databases were searched and reviewed. During the collection of articles, the keyword "maternal death" was used in Persian articles and the keyword "maternal death" was used in English articles.
Findings and Conclusions: The results of the review studies showed that the prevalence of maternal mortality in different age groups is different due to various factors. Based on comparative studies, the highest rate of maternal mortality occurs between the ages of 18 and 35.
