Study of spontaneous abortion and its related factors in women covered by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in 1397

Abstract

Objective:Abortion refers to the termination of pregnancy before the twentieth week. Due to the effect that abortion has on maternal health and society, the study is necessary to identify related factors.This study aims to investigate spontaneous abortion and its related factors in women.Mashhad University of Medical Sciences was established in1397.
Methods:This is a case-control study. With the coordination and cooperation of the Deputy Minister of Health and using the Sina system(integrated system of information system), all pregnant women who had a miscarriage in1397 and more than 5,000 people, as the case of the same number Pregnant women without a history of abortion were selected as controls and abortion-related factors were studied and compared in both groups. The case sampling method was simple random sampling based on the census of all cases of spontaneous abortion in 1397 and the control sampling.The obtained information was analyzed by SPSS16 software.
Results: A total of 11205 people were studied in case(5602) and control (5603)groups.The mean age of the control group was 23.6+99.28and the case group was 66.6+32.32 years.Results Shows having a previous child,history of miscarriage and consumption of folic acid are risk factors for miscarriage and obesity,hard work,iron intake and high blood pressure are protective factors.Fruit and vegetable consumption,vitamin D and diabetes were not observed with abortion.
Conclusion:According to the variables affecting abortion, with proper planning and education in women who intend to become pregnant, many cases of abortion can be prevented and the complications and costs associated with this disease can be reduced.
