Introduction and purpose: Covid-19 disease causes many physiological, psychological and emotional disorders. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of unified protocol on the resilience and the psychological empowerment in the patients recovered from Covid-19.
Material and method: It was a quasi-experimental study with pretest, posttest and control group design. The statistical population of the study included the patients recovered from Covid-19 in the city of Tehran in the summer of 2020. 16 Covid-19-recovered patients were selected through snowball sampling method and were randomly accommodated into experimental and control groups (each group of 13 patients). The experimental group received ten seventy-five sessions of unified protocol (Barlow et al, 2011) during a month. The applied questionnaire included resilience (Conner, Davidson, 2003) and Psychological empowerment (Karimi Vakil et.al, 2018). The data from the study were analyzed through ANCOVA method.
Findings: The results showed that unified protocol has had significant effect on the resilience and the psychological empowerment in the patients recovered from Covid-19 (p<0.001) and led to the increase of resilience and the psychological empowerment in them.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study it can be concluded that unified protocol can be used as an efficient therapy to increase resilience and psychological empowerment in the patients recovered from Covid-19 through employing techniques such as recognizing emotions and tracking emotional experiences, learning to observe emotional experiences and using mindfulness techniques
