Abstract
Introduction: The present study aims to design and validate a counseling package combining meaning therapy with compassion therapy in treating marital conflicts in married women. Methods: The present study was quantitative and qualitative (mixed method). The qualitative stage of the process of developing the new counseling package, according to the qualitative analysis of the training courses of the integrated counseling package with regard to the sources of problems and the self-compassion package (Gilbert, 2014, 2015, 2009) and the semantic therapy package (Schelenberg et al., 2010; Johnson, 2013) as the main basis of the training course, was extracted and enriched with information. As the main basis of the training course, it was extracted and enriched with information. Therefore, the content of the sessions had acceptable validity. The preliminary effectiveness of the designed package was implemented on 30 married women with marital conflict in Yazd city (experimental and control groups), and the initial validity of the package was confirmed. In the quantitative part, the research method was pre-test and post-test and follow-up and experiment. The statistical population was all married women with marital conflict (in 2023-2024), who had referred to counseling clinics in Yazd city to receive counseling services. A sample size of 30 people was selected through purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria and randomly divided into control and experimental groups (15 people in each group).
