Identifying the Causes of Men's Marital Infidelity in Women's Perspective

Abstract

Introduction: Betrayal for whatever reason, engaging in these relationships at different levels, may have undesirable effects on marriage. Accordingly, the present study identifies the factors affecting men's transgression from a women's perspective.
Materials and Methods:
For this purpose, 20 women with experience of spouse infidelity were selected through purposive sampling method and in-depth semi-structured interviews were studied during a 12 month period. , Collected, recorded, coded, and subdivided into main and sub-themes. Results from coding analysis of interviews It led to the identification of 3 main themes including individual, interactive, social and cultural contexts and 19 sub-themes (6 individual themes, 8 interactive themes, and 5 social cultural themes).
Results: Findings indicate factors such as low self-esteem, low differentiation, responsibility. Avoidance, Dominance and Dominance, Psychological Problems, Childhood Traumatic Experiences Among Individual Reasons; Destructive Behaviors, Lack of Mutual Support, Lack of Marital Intimacy, Conflict Resilience, Poor Activity and Common Time, Problems and Problems Sex, secrecy, weak marital boundaries, interactive factors and differences in worldview, differences in family Salinity, family affiliation, broad friendships, type of job were identified as social factors in the field of men's marital breakdown from the women's point of view.
Conclusion: The results indicated that factors in personal, couple and social cultural domains were harmful factors in formation. They are widespread and marital breakdowns. Therefore, the need to pay more attention to these factors identified in marriage can partially prevent the formation of marital breakdowns.
