Modeling Relationships between Anger and Marital Commitment Mediated by Basic Psychological Needs in Working Women

Abstract
This study tends to model the relationships between anger and marital commitment mediated by basic psychological needs of working women. The statistical population included all women working in the administrative organizations of Golestan province and the sample size was set at 380 using the Krejcie-Morgan table, who were selected by voluntary sampling method. Data collection instryments include Adams and Jones Marital Commitment Questionnaires, AGQ Aggression Questionnaire, and Basic Psychological Needs Questionnaire, all of which have reliability and validity. Amos23 software was used to analyze the data. The findings showed no direct relationship between anger and marital commitment, while there was a negative and significant relationship mediated by basic psychological needs in working women of Golestan province. Therefore, it can be concluded that anger is the result of stimulation of basic psychological needs; thus, if the environment is prone to anger, it can reduce the level of marital commitment. It is recommended to provide self-control training, empowerment and social resilience in societies in order to improve social conditions and to conduct research based on effectiveness of anger management training, communication skills and basic psychological needs with different groups.
