Introduction: Comparing psychological approaches for more effectiveness is one of the topics of interest to researchers; Therefore, the purpose of this research is to compare cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy on sleep disorder and quality of life of mothers with children with learning disabilities.
Methods: The research method is semi-experimental and the research design is pre-test-post-test with a control group. The statistical population of the study was made up of all mothers with children with learning disabilities who referred to learning disability centers in the 2nd district of Tehran. The sampling method was purposeful and based on the criteria of entering and exiting the research was 45 people. which were randomly divided into two experimental and one control groups. Individual clinical profile form, Petersburg Sleep Quality Score (PSQI) and World Health Organization Quality of Life were used to collect data. To analyze the data, multivariate analysis of covariance was used using SPSS version 26 software.
Results: After controlling for the effect of the pre-test, the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the two groups is significant for the sleep quality and quality of life variables, and the mean scores of the cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy groups in the sleep quality and life quality variables are significantly higher than the control group. (P<0.05).
Conclusion: It can be said that both approaches are effective in improving the sleep disorder and the quality of life of mothers with children with learning disabilities.
