Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between social exclusion and childhood traumas with the risk-taking of female adolescents in the second year of high school. The research method was descriptive with correlation design. The statistical population was all female students of the second secondary level of Tankabon city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 147 were selected by cluster random method. The participants responded to the risk tolerance questionnaires (Iranizadeh Mohammadi and Ahmadabadi, 2017), the short form of the childhood trauma questionnaire (2003) and the social exclusion questionnaire (Hoff and Vroman, 2001). The information obtained from the questionnaires was analyzed using SPSS statistical software and multiple regression. The findings indicated that there was a positive and significant correlation between all the components of childhood trauma with risk taking, and among the components of social exclusion, only the correlation of social participation and access to social rights was positive and significant with risk taking. The result of the research showed that the variables of childhood injury and social exclusion have the power to predict risk taking.
