Abstract

Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of continuous and periodic training along with the consumption of jujube extract on the plasma level of nesfatin-1 in rats.
Materials and Methods: The present study is experimental. 36 male ratswere purchased from the laboratory animal reproduction and breeding center of Birjand University of Medical Sciences with a weight range of 250-350 grams, and then suffered a heart attack through the induction of cardiac ischemia with subcutaneous injection of isoprenaline. Then they were divided into four groups of 6: control, intermittent aerobic exercise with jujube extract, intermittent aerobic exercise, continuous aerobic exercise with jujube extract, continuous aerobic exercise and jujube extract consumption group. Mice had free access to water and food. The jujube extract groups were gavage with a dose of 400 mg/kg and 1.5 cc of jujube extract per day. Results: The results showed that 6 weeks of intermittent and continuous aerobic training, alone and together with the consumption of jujube extract, caused a significant increase in plasma nesfatin-1 levels compared to the control group. Also, the consumption of jujube extract alone caused a significant increase compared to the control group. Between the effects of two types of sports training, intermittent training increased more than continuous training, but the difference was not significant. Conclusion: It seems that periodic and continuous exercise alone and with jujube extract as well as consumption of jujube extract alone increases nesfatin-1 in male rats suffering from heart attack.
