مقدمه پاتوژنز MS شامل التهاب و فاز تخریب اعصاب است. MS با یک التهاب اتوایمیون به غلاف میلین و اغلب با یک حمله ناگهانی آغاز میشود؛ سپس وارد مرحله بهبود میشود که چند ماه تا چندین سال به طول میانجامد. پژوهش حاضر بهمنظور بررسی شش هفته تمرین هوازی و مصرف ژل رویال بر فاکتورهای التهابی TNF-α، hs-CRP و نوتروفیل در بیماران MS انجام شد. روش کار در این پژوهش نیمه تجربی، 42 نفر بیمار مبتلابه MS شرکت کردند. آزمودنیها بهصورت هدفمند انتخاب و بهصورت تصادفی در 4 گروه:1-«ورزش+ژل رویال» (10 نفر)، 2-«ورزش+دارونما» (10 نفر)،3- «ژل رویال» (11 نفر) و 4-«دارونما» (11 نفر) تقسیم شدند. تمرین به مدت 6 هفته، هر هفته 3 جلسه روی چرخ کارسنج و باشدت 60% HRmax انجام شد. سپس بهصورت پلکانی افزایش یافت و در هفته ششم به 80% HRmax رسید. دوز مصرف روزانه ژل رویال 1000 میلیگرم بود. غلظت پلاسمایی فاکتورهای التهابی پیش و پس از پژوهش اندازهگیری شد. نتایج یافتهها نشان داد مقدار TNF-αدر گروههای «ورزش+ژل رویال» (039/0=P)، «ورزش+دارونما» (049/0=P) و «ژل رویال» (015/0=P) کاهش معنیداری داشته، اما در گروه «دارونما» معنیدار نبود (364/0=P). مقادیر hs-CRP در گروههای «ورزش+ژل رویال» (002/0=P)، «ورزش+دارونما» (047/0=P) و «ژل رویال» (042/0=P) تفاوت معنیداری داشت. نوتروفیل در گروههای «ورزش+ژل رویال» (028/0=P) و «ورزش+دارونما» (010/0=P) کاهش معنیداری داشت؛ این میزان در گروههای «ژل رویال» (252/0=P) و «دارونما» (365/0=P) معنیدار نبود. نتیجه گیری نتایج این پژوهش نشان داد تمرین هوازی و مصرف ژل رویال باعث بهبود TNF-α، hs-CRP و نوتروفیل در بیماران MS میشود.
