Abstract
Background and Objectives: Sexual relationship is one of the basic components of married life. Recognizing and analyzing its factors can enrich the couple's relationship. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the family-of-origin perception and emotional intelligence with sexual satisfaction considering the mediating role of caregiving dimensions.
Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlation and The statistical
population includes all married individuals living in the city of Tehran in the year 2021. The instruments used in the research were: Family of origin scale (FOH), Emotional intelligence scale (EQ), Caregiving questionnaire, and Larson sexual satisfaction questionnaire (LSSQ). The data were analysed using correlation method, path analysis, using SPSS-21 and AMOS-24 softwares.
Results: The results showed the direct and significant effects between the family-of-origin perception, emotional intelligence and proximity, sensitivity, and compulsive dimensions of caregiving with sexual satisfaction (p<0.05). moreover, path analyses result showed that caregiving proximity, sensitivity and compulsive mediated the association between the family-of-origin perception and sexual satisfaction. caregiving proximity and sensitivity mediated the association between emotional intelligence and sexual satisfaction.
Conclusion: positive perception of the family of origin along with the ability of emotional intelligence and the good quality of caregiving increases sexual satisfaction.
