چکیده [English]

Introduction: Considering the increasing divorce statistics, it is necessary to use methods to reduce marital conflicts and increase marital satisfaction of married women as an important part of society in this field. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the developed counseling program combining semantic therapy with compassion therapy in treating marital conflicts of married women in Esfahan.
Materials and Methods: The research method was a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test and follow-up study with a control group. The statistical population consisted of all married women aged 25 to 50 years who referred to counseling centers and clinics in Esfahan city within a 3-month period in (۲۰۲۳-۲۰۲۴), due to marital conflicts. A sample size of 30 people was selected using purposive sampling and randomly divided into control and experimental groups according to the inclusion criteria. The experimental group received a researcher-made educational package based on the content analysis technique in 12 90-minute sessions, while the control group did not receive any training. The research tool was the Marital Conflict Questionnaire by Barati and Sanaei (1990). Results: The results showed that the combined counseling package of meaning therapy and compassion therapy had a significant effect on reducing marital conflict and its subscales in married women in the experimental group at post-test and follow-up stages (P<0.05). Conclusion: According to the research findings, it can be concluded that a combination of semantic therapy and compassion therapy can be useful in improving relationships and reducing marital conflicts among married women.
