Introduction
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of motor training and PCIT-based parenting therapy on motor, cognitive and disobedient performance in children with ADHD.
method
The research method was applied in terms of purpose and was a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. From the community of children aged 7 to 12 years with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder referred to the Apama Counseling and Psychotherapy Center in Tehran, 30 people were selected by purposive sampling method and 15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group were randomly assigned. The experimental group was first trained in parenting therapy program based on child-parent interaction for 10 sessions of 45 minutes, and at the same time the movement exercises for their children were taught for 13 sessions of 45 minutes to be with their children. Do the exercises.
findings
The results showed that exercise training and parenting therapy based on child-parent interaction had an effect on motor, cognitive and disobedient performance of children with ADHD (p <0.05). There is a significant difference between the two experimental groups in the variable of verbal memory and in the variable of visual-spatial memory and in the variable of motor function and disobedience.
Conclusion
According to the results, it is suggested that educational workshops be held for parents, educators and institutions that are related to children with ADHD to get acquainted with the behaviors of these children.
