The present study was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on self-perception of children with stuttering referred to speech therapy centers. The present research is semi-experimental and pre-test and post-test with a control group (with a two-month follow-up), which was practical in terms of its purpose. The statistical population of this research is children with stuttering disorder who referred to the speech therapy centers of Tonkabon city in the first half of 1400, and 30 people were randomly selected by the purposeful and available sampling method (3 people were kept aside as a reserve and replacement). and were replaced in one of the two experimental and control groups (15 people). The data collection tool was self-perception questionnaires (Shoestrom, 1962) . Data analysis was done by SPSS 26 statistical software and the results showed that the effect of time, group and interaction between time and group is significant for self-perception (<0.001). According to the effect of the group and the table of averages, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) reduced self-perception of children with stuttering referred to speech therapy centers in the experimental group compared to the control group, which according to Due to the effect of time and the interaction between time and group, there was a significant difference in self-perception between the evaluation stages . Therefore, it can be said; Treatment based on acceptance and commitment (ACT) is effective on self-perception, of children with stuttering referred to speech therapy centers in Tonkabon.
