ntroduction: Among biological needs, sexual instinct is deeply intertwined with psychological needs, so that the effect of this desire can be observed in many aspects of life. In addition to biological factors, women's sexual dysfunction is dependent on numerous social, cultural, and psychological factors, one of which can be emotional disorders. Women constitute half of the population of our country, and sexual dysfunction is more common in them than in men, with an estimated overall prevalence of 43.9%. Sexual dysfunction causes a decrease in the quality of life and dissatisfaction with relationships with others, as well as social problems such as crimes, sexual assault, and mental illnesses. The purpose of the present study is to predict women's sexual dysfunction based on the components of emotional alexithymia and aggression.
Methods: The research method is descriptive, correlational. The statistical sample was selected using a simple random method and the sample size was obtained using the Kramer method and after expansion, equal to 200, which included married women aged 20 to 45 who had referred to the health homes of the seventh district of Tehran Municipality in 2017. The research tools included the Persian version of the Women's Sexual Function Questionnaire (Mohammadi et al., 2008), the Toronto Emotional Aphasia Questionnaire (Beshart, 2008), and the Bass and Perry Aggression Questionnaire (Mohammadi, 2006), which have good validity and reliability in Iran.
Results: The results of the hierarchical approach of the multivariate regression analysis method indicate a negative and significant relationship between the total score of women's sexual function and the subtests of difficulty in recognizing emotions (p 0.01) and objective thinking (p 0.05) in the Toronto Emotional Aphasia Scale. Also, among the components of aggression, anger and hostility negatively predict female sexual dysfunction at the 0.05 level.
