Drug addiction is a health problem that can have a wide range of effects on various aspects of a person's health. Methadone and buprenorphine are commonly used as treatments in this field, but the effects of these drugs on sexual function and hormone levels are still under debate and research. This study examines the differences in the effects of these two drugs on sexual function and testosterone levels in men. In this study, relevant studies from relevant databases were reviewed. The results showed that methadone use significantly reduced testosterone levels and caused sexual problems such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and orgasm quality. In contrast, buprenorphine had fewer effects on sexual function and testosterone levels. However, long-term use of both drugs can cause problems in this area, but the severity of these problems is less severe in buprenorphine than in methadone. While both drugs can cause sexual problems, the severity of these problems is greater in methadone users than in buprenorphine users.
