Marriage can provide a safe space for a partner and an environment for children to grow up to share their feelings, and it can also help strengthen the bond between family members. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the educational model of the flourishing couple on family functioning and parent-child conflict. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population included couples referring to psychological centers in Kermanshah, who were selected by purposeful sampling with an entry criterion of 40 people and were randomly assigned to two groups of 20 experimental and 20 control groups. The measurement tools included the McMaster Family Function Questionnaire (1983) and the Strauss Parent-Child Conflict Questionnaire (1990). The intervention was presented to the experimental group in the form of 12 sessions of 45 minutes per week, and the group did not receive a training certificate. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS software and using the method of analysis of variance with repeated measurements and a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the educational model was effective on parent-child conflict and family functioning, and the stability of the intervention was maintained over time. (P≥0.001). Therefore, according to the findings, it is suggested that the results of this research be used by marriage and family specialists in the direction of counseling services for troubled couples.
