Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of positive thinking skills training in a group setting on the quality of life and self-efficacy of mothers with hyperactive children.
Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study (pre-test post-test design with a control group). The statistical population of this study included all mothers of Chenaran with hyperactive children, of whom 40 eligible mothers were selected through voluntary and available sampling and were completely randomly divided into two experimental groups (20 people) and control groups (20 people). To collect information, two general self-efficacy questionnaires by Scherer, Maddox et al. (1982) and a 36-item quality of life questionnaire (SF-36) were used. The data were analyzed based on the multivariate and univariate analysis of covariance methods using SPSS 23 software.
Results: The results of the study showed that group-based positive thinking skills training was effective on the quality of life and self-efficacy of mothers with hyperactive children (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The results of the study revealed the effect of group-based positive thinking skills training on the quality of life and self-efficacy of mothers with hyperactive children and highlighted the importance of paying attention to such studies for counselors, educators, and administrators.
