Abstract:
Introduction: Emotional intelligence is now considered as a new subject in the field of psychology. Studies done in this field illustrate the role of emotional intelligence and its components in various aspects of human life, such as academic performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence education on academic performance and emotional intelligence in Shadegan's fifth grade male students.
Method: In order to do this, 50 male students of the fifth grade boy were randomly selected by random sampling method in Shadegan city. After initial screening, 40 subjects were randomly assigned (20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group). Control group). The students' load-It and Parker emotional intelligence benefit log was completed as a pre-test and post-test. Then, the experimental group received 10 minutes of emotional intelligence instruction and the control group did not receive any intervention. After the end of the training period, the experimental group and the control group were re-evaluated. Data were analyzed by SPSS18 software at ᵅ =0.05.
Results: The results of multivariate covariance analysis indicated that emotional intelligence education increased academic performance and emotional intelligence among students (P <0.01).
Conclusion: The results showed that emotional intelligence education increased the academic performance and emotional intelligence of mentally retarded boy students.
