This research is aimed at identifying the role of attachment styles in university students’ Dark dimensions of the character. Concerning the objective, this is applied research and the method chosen is survey-descriptive based on data gathered through questionnaires students from Islamic Azad University in Tehran were asked to complete. The variables, based on definitions and scientific theories, were set in three aspects of security, avoidant and ambivalent and Collins & Read (1990) standard questionnaire was used. The Johnson & Webster Questionnaire (2010) has been developed to assess the dimensions of the dark triangle of personality
The findings of this study indicate a negative and significant relationship between safe attachment style and Machiavellian personality traits. The results also show a strong, significant and positive relationship between bisexual / anxiety attachment and all dark personality traits (Machiavellian, narcissistic, psychopathic). The results also show that there is no significant relationship between avoidance attachment and any of the dark traits of personality.
