The aim of this study was to present a structural model of students' addiction tendency based on the components of stress tolerance, differentiation and difficulty of emotion regulation mediated by impulsivity. The study was a descriptive study of structural equations. The statistical population of the study was the students of Islamic Azad University of Tehran in the academic year 1300-1400, which was selected by cluster sampling. The sample size was obtained using software based on the equation of 310 people, which was distributed at a rate of 10% and 314 questionnaires were examined after pre-processing. Research tools include scales; Emotional Distress Tolerance (DTS-SF), Self-Differentiation Scale (SODS), Emotional Difficulty (ERQ), Barrett Impulsivity (BIS-Brief), and Addiction Tendency (SPQ). Despite the normality of the distribution, the data analysis was performed by modeling variance-based structural equations, which were tested using SPSS-26 and Smart PLS statistical software with 0.95 confidence and power equal to 0.85 causal hypotheses. The results of the conceptual model test showed that the measurement and structural model fit indices are in a good condition. Anxiety tolerance constructs and difficulty adjusting emotion at the 0.99 confidence level had an effect on the impulsivity construct and all variables had a significant direct effect on addiction tendency. Also, part of the behavior of the variables of tolerance for anxiety and difficulty in regulating emotion without a significant effect of differentiation on the tendency to addiction was dependent on the presence of impulsivity.
