Introduction: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on self-control, difficulty in emotion regulation, resilience and psychological resilience in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Materials and Methods: The research was quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with control and follow-up groups. The statistical population of this study was all patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder referred to psychotherapy centers in Babol in the spring of 1400. Among the psychotherapy centers in Babol, four centers were considered and according to the clinical diagnosis with DSM5 criterion, 30 patients had obsessive-compulsive disorder. 30 patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder were purposefully selected and randomly assigned to an experimental group (15 people) and a control group (15 people). Data collection tools were a self-control questionnaire, emotion difficulty questionnaire, resilience questionnaire and psychological flexibility questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS-21 software and statistical tests of analysis of variance with repeated measures and post hoc tests
Results: Findings showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy affects self-control, difficulty in emotion regulation, resilience and psychological flexibility in clients with practical obsession.
Conclusion: Conclusion: Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that cognitive behavioral therapy is an effective treatment for increasing self-control, reducing the difficulty of emotion regulation, increasing resilience and psychological flexibility in patients with obsessive compulsive disorder.
