Introduction: Responsibility and job enthusiasm improve the job performance of people in the workplace. According to this the present study was conducted aiming to determine the effectiveness of group counseling based on the logo therapy approach on the responsibility and job engagement of the employees of the agricultural jihad of behmai city.
Materials and Methods: It was a quasi-experimental study with pretest, posttest design with control group and two-month follow-up stage. The statistical population of the research included the employees working in the management of agricultural Jihad in Bahmai city. 38 employees were selected through purposive sampling method and they were randomly replaced into experimental and control groups (each group of 19 employees). The experimental group was undergone 10 sessions logo therapy approach. California Psychological Questionnaires (responsibility mini-scale) (1987) and job engagement questionnaire (Schaufeli, Salanova, 2002) were used in the present study. The data taken from the study were analyzed through mixed ANOVA and Bonferroni follow-up test via SPSS23 software.
Results: The results showed that group counseling based on the logo therapy approach has had significant effect on responsibility (F=52.62; Eta=0.59; P<0001) and job engagement (F=35.20; Eta=0.49; P<0001) of the employees of the agricultural jihad of behmai city.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study, logo therapy can be used as an efficient approach to improve responsibility and job engagement of employees through employing change in attitudes and taking meaning via meaning discovery method, accountability, overcoming despair, increasing life hope and affective support of the members from each other.
