[English]

Purpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the formulation and validation of the model of belief in a just world based on social support with the mediating role of emotional schemas and cognitive flexibility in patients with type 2 diabetes. Method: The research method is descriptive-correlation and structural equation modeling in a special way. The population of this study was all patients with type 2 diabetes referred to specialized diabetes clinics in Tehran in 2020-2021, and 350 people were selected as samples by random sampling. To collect data from the Belief in a Just World Scale (Dalbert, 1999 and Sutton & Douglas, 2005), Perceived Social Support Scale (MPSSS; Zimmett, Dahlem, Zimmett, & Farley, 1977), Emotional Schemas Scale (ESS; Leahy, 2002) and Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI; Dennis and Vanderwaal, 2010) using and analyzing data using structural equation method. Findings: The results showed that the fit indices of the research model were favorable (GFI<0. 9) and emotional schemas and cognitive flexibility played a mediating role in the relationship between marital commitment and differentiation. Conclusion: This means that emotional schemas and cognitive flexibility play a mediating role in the relationship between marital commitment and differentiation. Therefore, considering emotional schemas, cognitive flexibility and differentiation can play an effective role in couples' relationships and increase marital commitment.
